Changing jets are a thing of the past. EFI is here to stay and making air fuel ratio adjustments could not be easier with the HMF/ dobeck EFI tuning box. HMF systems for EFI machines are developed with the HMF/Dobcek EFI box which means no guessing because every unit is pre-programed for HMF exhausts.- Easy installation usually takes 30 minutes or less.
- Makes recalibrating the air fuel ratio an easy chore.
- Make adjustments as you ride seeing instant results.
- HMF approved and used in our dyno testing.
WHY USE THE HMF PERFORMANCE DOBECK KITS?HMF suggests that customers use an EFI recalibration tuner (The HMF Optimizer) for several reasons.- 1) Adding a free flowing muffler and or air filter changes flow. Since these machines are open loop (no O2 sensor) and cannot adjust air fuel ratio we need to have the ability to adjust the air fuel ratio to modifications, location and ambient conditions.
- 2) The HMF Optimizer is tuned on the HMF dyno to each specific application. The HMF Optimizer is pre loaded with the map we found to work best at basic sea level and 15.5 ºC. The HMF Optimizer is tunable so that the end user can fine tune for their modifications, location and ambient conditions.
- 3) ALL machines are EPA restricted. These restrictions include lean air fuel ratio settings to pass emissions. Adding a free flowing muffler and or air filter and NOT recalibrating the air fuel ratio will cause internal exhaust temperatures (which are already extremely high due to the lean AFR) will lead to dangerously lean AFR which will raise internal exhaust temperatures to levels where the muffler packing will burn out. This leaves no insulation barrier form the hot exhaust pulse and in turn will destroy the muffler aluminum body.
- 4) Adding the HMF Optimizer will actually decrease internal exhaust temperatures because we now have the ability to add fuel, fuel is what cools combustion. More fuel (to a point) will mean cooler exhaust system temperatures.
- 5) All of the above said: Adding a free flowing pipe and air filter and not complete the circle simply does not make sense. You HAVE to increase fuel to show horsepower gains. That is done with re jetting OR adding a fuel recalibration unit such as the Optimizer.
